DESCRIPTION:Practices that foster Nervous System Regulation\, Emotional Resilience and Wellness\n\n\nLife has become increasingly complex\, stressful and insecure in many ways. Many of us are suffering from anxiety\, depression\, chronic pain\, poor sleep/insomnia and numerous other chronic health problems. Fundamentally all of these conditions\, whether mental or physical\, have in common an underlying cause: dysregulation of the nervous system.\nMore than ever we can lean heavily into the yoga and mindfulness practices to regulate our stressed nervous systems and develop both physical and emotional resilience and well-being. These workshops will allow you to explore various techniques that can be used towards this aim: gentle somatic movement\,  breathing practices\, meditation\, mindfulness\, chanting\, mudras\, etc.\nDates and Times: \nSaturdays from 10:00-11:15 am\nJune 14 ;  July 5 ; Aug 9\, Weather permitting\nCost: $25\nLocation: Outside on the Greenwood lawn (bring your own yoga mat; chairs will be available)\nTICKETS \nAbout the Instructor:\nDiana Perez PT\, B.Sc.\, M.Sc.\, Fellow Pht (OPPQ)\, Lifetime Member Award (CPA) Physiotherapist / Sports Physiotherapy / Yoga Therapist / Yoga Teacher Functional Medicine & Wellness Consultant\nDiana is a physiotherapist\, yoga therapists and yoga teacher that has been working in the wellness and health care space for over 45 years. Rehab. Science; Faculty of Medicine) and has been a practicing clinical physiotherapist since 1985. She has also done various formal trainings/certifications in the areas of Health and Wellness\, Nutrition\, Naturopathy\, Ayurvedic Medicine\, Functional Medicine and Acupuncture.\n\nAs a nationally certified sports physiotherapist\, Diana has worked with various elite and professional athletes\, national teams and sporting organizations\, and was a member of the Canadian Medical teams for the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games\, 2002 Commonwealth Games\, 1987 Pan American Games\, and various Maccabiah Games\, World Cup and World Championship events.\n\nShe has been teaching yoga since 2004 and has certifications in Hatha & Ashtanga (YTT-RYA)\, Accessible Yoga\, Pain Care Aware Yoga\, Pranayama and additional trainings in Anusara\, Yin Yoga\, Yoga Nidra and Therapeutic Yoga. She is also certified as a Professional Yoga Therapist.\n\n\n\nShe has developed and teaches a curriculum of courses to health care professionals on functional medicine approaches to health care delivery and on how to integrate yoga into clinical practice (Medical Yoga Therapy). She is also a faculty member of various Yoga Teacher Training Programs. She continues to teach yoga classes and workshops to the public at Modo West Island (Montreal) and Muv (Hudson) and runs numerous annual local and international yoga retreats and workshops.

She has also done various formal trainings/certifications in the areas of Health and Wellness\, Nutrition\, Naturopathy\, Ayurvedic Medicine\, Functional Medicine and Acupuncture.\n\nAs a nationally certified sports physiotherapist\, Diana has worked with various elite and professional athletes\, national teams and sporting organizations\, and was a member of the Canadian Medical teams for the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games\, 2002 Commonwealth Games\, 1987 Pan American Games\, and various Maccabiah Games\, World Cup and World Championship events.\n\nShe has been teaching yoga since 2004 and has certifications in Hatha & Ashtanga (YTT-RYA)\, Accessible Yoga\, Pain Care Aware Yoga\, Pranayama and additional trainings in Anusara\, Yin Yoga\, Yoga Nidra and Therapeutic Yoga. She is also certified as a Professional Yoga Therapist.\n\n\n\nShe has developed and teaches a curriculum of courses to health care professionals on functional medicine approaches to health care delivery and on how to integrate yoga into clinical practice (Medical Yoga Therapy). She is also a faculty member of various Yoga Teacher Training Programs. She continues to teach yoga classes and workshops to the public at Modo West Island (Montreal) and Muv (Hudson) and runs numerous annual local and international yoga retreats and workshops.

DESCRIPTION:Born and raised in Alberta\, Caroline Adderson spent the year after graduating high school travelling across Canada and doing various types of volunteer work for the Katimavik youth program before settling in Vancouver. She earned her Bachelor of Education with a Concentration in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia and then worked for a decade as an ESL teacher. She is the author of several highly acclaimed novels – A History of Forgetting\, Sitting Practice\, The Sky is Falling\, Ellen in Pieces\, A Russian Sister\, three collections of short stories\, and many books for young readers. She will present her newest book for children\, A Pond\, A Poet\, and Three Pests\, along with related activities at StoryFest for Kids. Her writing awards include three BC Book Prizes\, three CBC Literary Awards\, the Marian Engel Award for mid-career achievement\, and National Magazine Award Gold Medal for Fiction.
